This is a personal portfolio. The short version: no cookies, no analytics platform, no ads, no fingerprinting, and nothing about you is ever sold or stored in a database.
## When you visit a page
The site sends me a one-time email so I know someone real stopped by. That email contains exactly five things: the page you opened, your approximate city-level location, the page that referred you, your browser and operating system with screen size, and the time of the visit.
The location is approximate at best, and I read the email and then delete it — nothing about your visit is kept anywhere.
To work out that approximate location, your IP address is passed to a geolocation lookup service. Your IP is used only for that lookup, to tell scanners apart from people, and to avoid emailing me twice for the same visit — it is never included in the email and never stored here.
## When you use the contact form
Whatever you enter — name, email, optional phone, and your message — is emailed to me so I can reply. It isn't stored anywhere else or shared with anyone.
## Who else is involved
Three kinds of service make this site work, and nothing else touches it: a hosting provider that serves every page, an email delivery service that sends the two kinds of email described above, and the geolocation lookup mentioned earlier. There is no analytics provider, no ad network and no tracking pixel.
If you want to know exactly which providers those are, or want anything about a visit of yours removed, just ask me at the address below and I'll tell you.
